Q. How Can I Run Matlab jobs under Condor?
A. The general procedure is to create an M-file for the job, create a submit file and then submit the job for execution.
This must be done from a CAE linux or Unix workstation. Condor on CAE Windows machines cannot run Matlab.
All operations described below require that your account has access to administrative privileges.
The University has negotiated a contract with Symantec for the distribution of the Symantec Client Security (SCS) package which includes both the Norton Personal Firewall and Norton Antivirus software.
CAE does not officially endorse or will promote any one Office suite over another. We do, however, recommend that users within the College of Engineering, use the office suite from OpenOffice.org on Linux for its availability and compatibility with Office suites on Windows machines.

- Policy: CAE does not allow users to run jobs in the background. Running a job in the background slows the computer for other users. Extended remote logins to CAE workstations for the purpose of running programs is considered background jobs. Running jobs from the console of a workstation for many hours may also be considered a background job.
CAE has the following compilers installed for Windows:

- Visual Studio: C++, Interdev ID, Visual Basic
