Print from Your Computer to a CAE Printer: You can print to CAE lab printers as you would any other Windows printer. Use the CAE printserver to allow your computer (while on the engineering campus) to print to the printers in a CAE lab. This allows you to print from your office/lab/classroom wired or wireless connection. For example, you could be working wirelessly in the lobby of Engineering Hall and print to the nearest CAE printer in Engineering Hall, which would be in Room 1249 EH. The print units are deducted from your account as they normally would be if you were printing from a CAE lab workstation.
Printing Overview: Every personal CAE account receives 300 print units at the beginning of each semester. Unused units from this allocation are not carried over to the next semester. Purchased paper units do carry over from semester to semester. The printing rates are 1 unit per page for black and white and 10 units per page for color. The cost of each additional unit is $.05 (five cents). You can purchase more units at the Consulting Desk using a UW print card which can be purchased from a Vend-a-card dispenser. A Vend-a-card dispenser can be found in room 170 CAE.
Note: Only paper authorized by CAE may be used in a CAE printer. Please do not put your own paper in the machines. If you need something printed on special paper such as your résumés, please bring it to one of the local copy shops.
