Whether it's due to graduation, a new job, or retirement, there comes a time for most of us when the CAE account expires. Account expiration is an automated process, driven by campus databases. When someone's status changes, the account might be set to expire. Changes that will impact account eligibility are:

• enrollment in UW-Madison
• major in the College of Engineering
• employment at the UW-Madison
• employing department in the College of Engineering

CAE gives 30 days' notice before account expiration, and allows access via sFTP for 2 additional weeks. You should never lose your account without warning. Before your account expires, you may want to back up the files, set up an email forward, and do other things to make the transition as painless as possible.
