There are two methods of opening a CAE Account. In order for this to work, you need to be a student enrolled in an engineering course or employed by the College of Engineering. If you are a student, the process may not work until 10 days after you get your student ID. Note: You should only run newuser once. Also, be sure to choose a password with 6 or more characters. Option 1: Online from a computer outside the labs Step 1. Go to Open New CAE Account. Step 2. Enter in your ID and date of birth in the appropriate boxes. Option 2: On a machine in our labs Step 1. Go to a Windows machine in a CAE Lab. We have a list of labs on our Labs page. Step 2. Simultaneously press: Ctrl, Alt, and Del Step 3. Fill in newuser as your name and leave the password blank. Click the OK button. Step 4. Fill in the information the program asks for, including your ID number (first 10 digits only). See a CAE consultant if your ID number is rejected of if you have other problems. Consultants are located in the CAE building under the sign that says "CAE Consultant."
