Configuring TCP/IP with OSX
IP Address Requests Your computer must be in the College of Engineering IP Address database before it is permitted to connect to the network. Setting Up TCP/IP The following instructions apply to Mac OS X 10.3 or later.
  1. Go to System Preferences (/Applications/System Preferences).
  2. Select Network from the Internet & Network menu.
  3. In the location tab select Automatic.
  4. Under Show select Built-in Ethernet from the drop down list.
  5. Under the TCP/IP tab select Using DHCP. This will automatically set your IP address, Subnet Mask and Router.
  6. In the space labeled DNS Servers use the default that your ISP provides
  7. Click Apply to set the new settings.
Locating Your Ethernet/MAC Address
  1. Select Network under System Preferences (/Applications/System Preferences).
  2. Under Show select Built-in Ethernet from the drop down list.
  3. Click the Ethernet tab, which will show the computer's mac address (Ethernet ID), which will allow CAE to assign a static ip.
