FileZilla
This page is a tutorial that helps format FileZilla to access CAE files. FileZilla is an SFTP program (secure file transfer protocol) which can be used to transfer files to and from the CAE from outside the college.   Step 1.   Install FileZilla. This can be done through the CAE Application launcher if you have Novell on your machine, or if you're at home you can download a copy through http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezilla/.   Step 2.   Start FileZilla by going to Start > CAE Applications > Internet > FileZilla. If you installed locally, it will be somewhere else in your start menu. The application screen should look something like this:   Step 3. Configure the SFTP site   Go to File > Site Manager . . . Click on New Site and enter the following information: Host sftp.cae.wisc.edu Port 22 Servertype SFTP using SSH2 Logontype Normal Username Your CAE username Password We recommend you leave this BLANK for security reasons Don't save password Checked, unless you entered your password above Now choose Rename and enter the name you want for this FTP site (it can be anything). Your screen should now look like this:   Step 4. Set up SecureFX to connect to your Windows files by default   If you're using SecureFX primarily to get files from your windows filespace (your F and I drives on campus), you should do the following, otherwise skip to step 5. Click on Advanced and enter in the Default Remote Directory field /home/netware/loginname, where loginname is your CAE login name. Your screen should now look like this: Press OK to close the Advanced Settings Screen   Step 5. Connect to the servers   Press Connect, enter your password when prompted, and you should be connected to the server, which will look something like this:   Step 6. Move your files   You can move files in either direction by locating them in the window and double clicking on them. Local files are on the left hand side of the screen under "local site" and double clicking them will move them onto the server and put them in the folder currently open on the right hand side. If you double click on a file on the right hand (server) side, it will download it to your machine in the folder currently open on the right hand side.
