CAE has a new SSL certificate for our mail server. This certificate
allows secure exchange of information between the mail server and your
email client on your computer. For most email programs you will not
notice the change at all. The only problems have been reported on versions of Eudora less than 6.2.1.2.
The recommended fix is to upgrade to at least version 6.2.1.2.
If for some reason you cannot upgrade to 6.2.1.2, to have Eudora versions prior to 6.2.1.2 to accept the new certificate, you have to install it and add it to the list of trusted certificates.
This has to be done for each installation of older Eudoras. The
detailed steps are as follows:
- Check email and get an error message. This is necessary so Eudora has information about the certificate it does not yet trust.
- Go into Tools : Options.
- In the Checking Mail pane, click on the Last SSL Info button (lower right)
- Click the really wide Certificate Information Manager button at the bottom.
- Click View Certificate Details button at the lower left. This opens the detailed information and also the option to install.
- Click Install Certificate.
- Click Next and Finish until you get a pop-up window that tells you the certificate was installed successfully.
- Click OK in the Certificate window.
- Return to the Certificate Information Manager and click the Add to Trusted button (lower middle).
- Do the entire process again in the Sending Mail section.
- Click Done, OK, OK, to accept the changes.
Eudora will now receive CAE email.
